School and Private Groups

Visiting your establishment

As a Museum and having the privilege to still have many of the historic Battery buildings available to us, we wish to encourage all ages from many different schools, clubs and so on to come and visit us.

We can offer guided tours of the grounds and give the opportunity for visitors to enter the various buildings including ammunition tunnels, the war shelter and our restored harbour defence pill box.

A small charge of £3.00 per head is asked for as a donation to the Battery.

Donation includes a guided tour of the grounds and buildings and entry to the Museum buildings where our guides will be on hand to answer any of your questions.

Please contact us for further information.

If you wish to see the grounds, they are easiliy accessable within Battery Gardens, Brixham.

Explore the grounds using our visitor guide, available from the main museum, for a comprehensive guide to the Battery grounds.

For more information, private visits can be arranged if required.

Please be aware that some of the paths are quite steep and some of the emplacements have steep steps leading to them.  Some elements of the tour may not be suitable for the very young or persons who have some mobility problems.  Please contact us if you are unsure.

We do make visits to schools and other establishments in the Torbay area. Because of insurance costs and fuel costs we have to ask for a payment of £100 per visit.

Our volunteers can attend in uniform or 1940s dress and bring a assortment of items from our museum - please contact us for your requirements.
