Each Year our Members Volunteer to take our Displays to Venues and Events.
They do a fantastic Job of Promoting Our work at the Battery
Giving out Information about the Battery Site, WW11 history and Home Front
Including our WW11 Weapons Display
We Visit Schools and Groups. Passing on our Knowledge of WW11
But Its Not All Work
Our Volunteers Do Manage To Enjoy Themselves A Little
Taking Part in our local Carnival (and Winning Prizes)
Ladies Day .Where Other Members pass on tips about 1940s Hair and Makeup
Taking Part in Living History Displays
Trips to Other Museums and Shows
Fun Raising Events
Open Days
During the year, Along with our normal opening hours,
The battery organise open days at the site
Our main open days being... Easter Monday, V E Day, D Day and V J Day (always check our calendar, as we try to open the nearest Sunday to Anniversary Dates )
Other open days are planned at the start of each year and our calendar is updated regularly
We try to stage them on Sundays to allow more visitors the chance to attend
They run from 12pm - 4pm
All our normal site and Museum areas are open
We have Living History Displays and Groups
Our main Emplacements are manned
Extra Tours
Displays and Visting Group's are welcome..by pre arrangement only...
Weapons Displays with some blank firing
Tea and coffee (served in China cups of course ) plus homemade cakes are offered to members
